The good guys are brave and the bad guys are cowards. Dean Koontz keeps his characters in their lanes and employs hope. I enjoy the characters, although they are not necessarily deep. It switches between stories instead of going off the deep end of word salad and describing things that had been previously described. Seemed to get bogged down in prose and descriptors as a plot device and cliff hangers which would be frustrating to me. However, in these books it is done better. The conspiracy is palpable and flows smoothly. The spoilers will be limited because I have only read the first two books and I am currently making my way through the third.Īs I previously stated, I really like this series so far. Considering that I love tech morality tales like 'Black Mirror' and 'Love, Death, and Robots' it definitely plays to the kinds of stories I enjoy. It is unintentional and only in reference to why I like the books. Spoiler Alert: I will be talking about why I like the books and may reveal major plot points. ![]() ![]() ![]() (There's further, sad proof when Harry's dog Fred, accidentally locked in the playhouse for a few minutes, dies of starvation.)
